The thriving and family-friendly City of Sheldon, Iowa (population: 5,188+) is now hiring for the position of Street Superintendent. This position is responsible for the supervision and operation of the Sheldon Street Department and reports to the Public Works Director. The position oversees the operation of the Street Department, including streets, alleys, storm & sanitary sewer, and snow removal. The individual must have the ability to plan, schedule and implement tasks. Above average public relations and communication skills are expected. Requirements of the position include graduation from an accredited high school or completion of a GED program, residency within the City Limits of Sheldon, CDL or ability to obtain, and must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screening. Starting salary range is $54,000 – $63,550, based on qualifications and experience – plus a potential increase on July 1, 2020. The City offers an attractive benefits package.
