Garbage Information

The hauler schedules can be found on the front page of this website.

Sheldon has two private garbage haulers, Schwarz Sanitary Service at 324-3543 and DeKruif Disposal at 324-3404.  The City of Sheldon bills for residential garbage pickup.  The residential customer has their choice between the two garbage haulers.  The cost is $17.00 for garbage and a diesel fuel surcharge, if applicable, ranging from $.50 to $1.75 per month.  Schwarz Sanitary Service picks up at night, and DeKruif Disposal picks up during the day.

Recycling Information  The Northwest Iowa Area Landfill has issued a listing of items that are recyclable and items that are not recyclable.  https://nwialandfill.com   Recycling is included in the cost for garbage pick up, and is picked up every other week.

Sheldon Tree Dump Rules and Regulations

The site is reserved for the disposal of trees and brush only. Disposing of materials other than what is allowed is strictly forbidden. Absolutely no other dumping is allowed.

This site is reserved for disposal of trees and brush from properties within city limits of Sheldon, Iowa. Use of this site by anyone for the purpose other than what is allowed or from property outside the city limits is strictly forbidden.

Removal of any materials, including dirt, without express permission of the City of Sheldon is forbidden and will be considered theft. The loss of tree limbs, etc. on streets and roadways to and from the site are your responsibility. Please clean up after yourself.

Your cooperation with the regulations is greatly appreciated and will help keep the tree dump open.

Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
